Agora Commercial Finance was formed in 2001 as a firm of specialist independent commercial finance brokers seeking to serve clients in Devon and Cornwall requiring finance to purchase, expand or refinance their businesses, property development projects or property investment portfolios.
The name ‘Agora’ comes from the Greek for ‘Market Place’. So Agora Commercial Finance means ‘The Market Place for Commercial Finance’ – a seemingly apt name for a finance broker!
Working with established professional contacts the business grew by referral and recommendation and quickly developed a reputation for high quality submissions to lenders resulting in an extremely high approval rate and the finest possible terms being offered to clients.
The business has grown steadily since that time and the deterioration in the economic climate, which began to emerge in late 2007, has in fact resulted in an increased demand for our services.
Agora has always been run by staff with a wealth of business bank lending experience which enables us to bring past knowledge of almost every possible type of deal to the table when assisting our clients and presenting the case on their behalf. Put very simply we understand what lenders require and ensure we focus upon project viability, cash flow and risk management before analysing the underlying value of the available security in each case.
Strong relationships have developed with an increasing number of independent financial advisers and residential mortgage brokers throughout Devon and Cornwall, who prefer to pass commercial finance proposals to Agora knowing that their clients will receive the best possible advice and that, as the introducer, they will be kept informed of progress at every stage.
